The “Duarte”, a street parallel to the beach, is the main road and the center of the daily and nightly life of Boca Chica. During the day it is animated by the visitors of souvenir’ s stores of local handcraft full of original statues and figures carved in the wood, coloured ceramics and simple shirts painted with the typical designs.

In every corners are sold pictures with the unmistakable painting style of the Dominican and Haitian painters. There is not a tourist that can resist to buy at least one of this paintings as the best memory of his holiday … !!! There are many supermarkets and recently has been opened a food store with any kind of Italian specialities. Numerous are the internet and telephone centres … from where you can inform your friends and your family that you have decided to spend the rest of your life in Boca Chica ... !!!

In the late afternoon the street assumes a pleasant and lively atmosphere and became pedestrian, to enjoy the walk in total relax. Bar and restaurants put chairs and tables in the middle of the street, where people sit to taste a drink at the rhythm of “salsa”, “bachata” or “merengue".

At dinner time the restaurants get crowed and begin to offer their specialities. Normally the prices, in the Italian restaurants are quite low, but also in the Dominican restaurants: “Fernando” and “Criolla”, you can eat very well with only few dollars. The first in the street is “Pizza e Pasta”, “Pequina Suiza“ is perfect for a romantic dinner, with its beautiful tropical inner garden.

“Lucien” and “Italy Italy” are very well known for their plates of handmade pasta, grilled fish and meat and traditional Italian cakes. Do not lack renowned French and German restaurants: “Isla Bonita” and “Terrazza del Pilar” Even the lovers of Chinese food can find it at a very convenient price.

Following the way along the street, one can find more restaurants, then reach the “Hamaca hotel”, the greatest tourist complex, with its buffet restaurant open to everybody and its elegant “Casino” that entertains the games lovers all night long.

The walk end with two very important and famous places “Neptuno” with its structure of wood and its floor of glass over the sea reminds an huge aquarium … and “Boca Marina” recently restructured is elegant, chic and frequented by the high society of the capital.

These are only a few of a long list of places and it is clear that the choice is quite big … one single holiday is not enough to visit all of them ... Therefore do not wait too long before … to book for a second one … !!!
